Priest on the Throne; Crown in the Temple

How can a priest be on the throne? How can a king be in the temple? The prophecy in Zechariah points to the fact that the Messiah will resolve a fundamental problem in the relationship between God and his people by uniting the two offices in his person. This was certainly a radical message in Zechariah's time. Its fulfillment points to an amazing culmination of a cluster of Messianic prophecies, signified by the actions done to Joshua the High Priest.
