The Father's Role in Salvation

15

Notice that when Paul thanks God for the Colossians' salvation, he directs his gratitude to the Father specifically.

"We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ..."

It's not to say that we should direct our gratitude exclusively to God the Father. The Father did not act alone in our salvation because God is not a monad, meaning God is a singular person. God is not a singular person. He exists as three distinct persons who all have a role in our salvation. When we consider all that the Bible says about God, the picture that emerges is that God is one being, but "within the one Being that is God, there exist eternally three coequal and coeternal persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
What is the Father's role in our salvation?
