Lukewarm Christianity

The church in Laodicea was wealthy and complacent -- comfortable with the culture and thought she needed nothing. How wrong she was! Jesus sees her as neither hot nor cold -- but lukewarm. Good for nothing but to induce vomiting -- this was a nauseating church. Jesus calls her to repent, and to overcome her complacency. More than any of the seven churches, Laodicea most closely parallels modern American evangelical Christianity -- a strong message for our day!
