God's Glory Displayed in Christ's Genealogy

Purpose: As Matthew began his presentation of Jesus of Nazareth the Messiah, he started the story with the members of His lineage, not only to connect Him to Old Testament prophecies regarding the Messiah, but also to highlight the glorious character of God on display in His willingness to use these broken and sometimes unlikely people from who he came.
