2 - The Olivet Discourse

747

This is Part 2 in a series of messages that refutes a false view of Bible prophecy referred to as Preterism, a system of biblical interpretation that uses an allegoric or spiritualized approach to the scriptures to hold that all Bible prophecy, including the book of Revelation, Christ’s prophecies in of His return in the Olivet Discourse, and all other NT and OT prophecies of Christ’s second advent, His kingdom, and His reign on this earth has already been fulfilled, and in fact was fulfilled in the 1st century AD with the destruction of Jerusalem and replacement of national Israel with the Church as the Bride of Christ. The system denies that Christ will ever reign bodily on this earth, or that God has any future plan or purpose whatsoever for national Israel.

This message provides an overview of the preterist interpretation of Christ's "Olivet Discourse" found in Matthew 24, Mark 13 & Luke 21, and exposes some of the ludicrous lengths preterists go to in order to conclude that the great tribulation and abomination of desolation, Christ's coming in power and glory, and the angels being sent to gather the elect were all fulfilled in 70 AD with the destruction of Jerusalem. The message includes a brief Q & A at the end, and is then continued in Part 3 of the series, "The Abomination of Desolation."
