The Hope of God's Children

These verses deal with our security and hope related to our justification. The coming day of judgement is to be feared but the hope of the child of God is that they will be delivered from the wrath to come. Our hope so certain because it is not in ourselves, but rather in the Lord. The study of the glory of God's person and work leads to joyful confidence. When we appreciate our Savior, we can appreciate that no other religious leader can do what Christ does.

1. Christ's death secures and guarantees our present standing
   It is a death by the shedding of blood. That death gives us life.

2. Christ's life secures and guarantees our future salvation
   We are justified and reconciled completely and forever. In Christ's life he has given all life and all authority. No one can accuse us of sin because Christ has died for our sin.
