The glory of God in his salvation
Series Isaiah
218
It is right that God should be glorified and that all things should conspire to this end. What is exemplified in this chapter is what God will do forevermore in the deliverance of his own people and his judgement upon the wicked.
- A response that acknowledges God as God v1-5. Hezekiah's response wonderfully consistent with the belief of the God of Scripture.
- The Lord exercising his people in prayer v6-13. The former temptation reinforced - the ungodly's desire to banish the true God and his exclusive claims from their thoughts - God delays his answers for our good.
- The prayer of a man of prayer v14-20. It is the man who prays when he is not in trouble that knows how to pray when he is.
- The Lord takes sin personally v21-35.
- God's glory in salvation and judgement v36-38. The glory of God is the end of all things.
