Mighty words and works

As Jesus moves on in the power of the Spirit, he is conducting triumphant skirmishes in the war of which Calvary will be the climactic battle. His weapon of choice is the Word of God. As he ministers in Capernaum, we get a glimpse into the salvation and restoration that are involved in his bringing in "the acceptable year of the Lord." The kingdom of God is being established.Woven around his words with power and authority are the works his word accomplishes: a typical exorcism, a typical healing, further healings and further exorcisms.These words and works identify the Lord Jesus as the Son of God. The question is who we see, what we hear, and how we respond. Are we entering the kingdom of God?
