The Four Witnesses

The last two weeks we have been in John 5. John 5 is a long discourse where Jesus Challenges the Jews that he is the Son of God. It started when He healed the man at the pool of Bethesda. Then when challenged for working on the Sabbath, He argues that he can work on the Sabbath as He is the Son of God. As the Jews got angry at this, He challenges them that He has been given authority, by God, to do the works of God, to give Life to all who believe and to Judge all men. This was quite the challenge. ... It is easy for us to sit in Judgment on the Jews. If they would only have opened their eyes... yet we stand with them as well. We stand in front of a Holy God, we hear His voice coming to us and we as well have to choose, “Is He the Son of God and will I listen and yield to His Authority...” The culmination of this chapter comes here in these next verses. Christ here offers four different witnesses that He is the Son of God and Has all Power and Authority.
