The Dynamics of Gospel Partnering

Thesis: Paul brings letter to Philippians full circle in reminding us that partnering in the Gospel is always about the same thing - it is all about Jesus Christ.

  1. GOSPEL PARTNERING IS NOT A GIVEN (v.14-16)

    • Requires commitment of time, resources
    • God must be 1st priority
    • easier to consume than to engage
  2. GOSPEL PARTNERING BRINGS GOD-PLEASING FRUIT (v. 17-20)

    • When you partner, God produces fruit of righteousness
    • Long to hear, "Well done good and faithful servant"
    • Implications: Romans 12:1-2 , Psalm 51:10
    • All God's riches are in Christ - God is pleased when
we run to Jesus / run to the Father
  3. GOSPEL PARTNERING IS GLOBAL (v.21-23)

    • You're partnering has a cumulative effect - those
you engage with, get engaged with others, who get
      engaged with others, etc, etc.
    • Everyone you engage with can have tentacles that
reach to all parts of the earth
    • Paul (from prison) had engagements that reached
      Caesar's household (v.22)
