Live By God's Law Leviticus 18:1-5

I. The law is the standard of righteousness God has set for you.

A. Complete righteousness is necessary for God to accept you.

B. In perfect obedience to God's law you have life.

II. But you are guilty of breaking the whole law. [James 2:10]

A. If our hearts were perfect, knowing the law would lead us to obey.

B. By disobeying the law in one point you are guilty of the whole law.

C. God determines retribution for you who do not obey the law.

III. God provides imputed righteousness for you through faith.

A. God willingly accepts and provides a perfect substitute for you.

B. Receiving this Substitute gives you the freedom to obey.

IV. The law remains to provide life for you in Christ.

A. The law shows you how God is pleased.

B. By obedience to the law you show your gratitude for the Lord.
