Jesus Never Betrays His People

Betrayal is an evil characteristic of fallen mankind. The worst betrayal ever was that of the Lord Jesus, betrayed by Judas and by His creation unto death.

But God used that betrayal to accomplish the sacrifice of His Lamb, slain in the place of poor sinners who trust in Jesus and cry out for mercy!

Once we grasp how God used so filthy a betrayal to bring Christ everlasting glory, and His people eternal life, we can begin to understand how God has used, and will use, betrayal to accomplish His purposes from start to finish.

After all, God has solemnly promised to work all things together for our good, and that includes heartbreaking betrayals in our own lives.

We will not always understand God's purposes in betrayals now, but someday we will understand, and glorify God for His goodness to us in them all!

Adam and Eve set the standard for our betrayal of our Creator, and each of us has followed in their miserable and rebellious train.

But we only came to know the love of Jesus for us because we betrayed Him! The lengths to which God would go to save His people - offering up His Dear Son for us - is too much for us to grasp in its splendor and love!

We would never have loved our Savior so much, had He not laid down His life to redeem us! God used the original betrayal to direct all history to this point, that now and forever we will know the love of God for us!

Cain's betrayal of Abel set the standard for the world's hatred of Christ's only acceptable sacrifice, and all those who trust in it by faith.

Cain's betrayal demonstrates the depths to which sin will take mankind - in one generation, from eating forbidden fruit, to murdering a brother.
