Hebrews #6 - Description of the Apostates

What does it mean when it says it is 'impossible' to renew these people to repentance? Do these people fall into sin or fall away? What strong words does the author use to describe these apostates? There are two kinds of ground mentioned - good groud and thorny ground. What are the differences? How does the writer distinguish his readers from these apostates?
