Are You Free, or Will You Die in Your Sins?

Jesus goes to great lengths to seek and save the lost, and in this section, we see a dramatic example. Jesus is speaking to people in the temple, and in verse12, He makes one of the most astonishing and far reaching statements ever uttered in the world. He says He is the "Light of the world," and "He who follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life." Then, for the rest of the chapter, the Scribes and Pharisees attack Him with accusations, in the attempt to discredit Him. But Jesus continues with them to woo them and draw them by speaking the truth in love exposing the true condition of their souls. He calls them to consider the three most important questions in life.
