The Creation Sabbath

Most brethren who deny the perpetuity of the Christian Sabbath observance between the first and second coming of Christ also deny that the Sabbath is a creation ordinance. The claim often made is that mankind knew nothing of a Sabbath Day observance from Eden until the giving of the law at Mount Sanai, and that the Sabbath was made for the Jews only, and not for all men. But is this true? Is there any evidence from Holy Scripture that the Sabbath was observed by man in his state of innocence, and that Adam's posterity knew of it? If so, the consequences are huge for us today. For that which God established during the creation week binds all men of all generations to ethical obedience, transcending all cultures and all covenants. As we shall see, there is clear evidence from Holy Scripture that the six to one cycle of Sabbath observance is woven into the very fabric of creation itself, and thus the Sabbath is perpetual until heaven and earth shall pass away.
