CERTAINTY AND GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY
TEXT: 2 Kings 13:22 - 14:20
SUMMARY: Although we are guided in this life by biblical commands and principles, God’s sovereign workings are not visible to us, and so we must look beyond this world, realizing that our citizenship is in heaven, and “walk by faith, not by sight.”
I. WE MUST WALK IN THE LIGHT OF WHAT WE DO KNOW, GUIDED BY BIBLICAL COMMANDS AND PRINCIPLES..
A. We are Guided by Biblical Commands.
B. We are Guided by Biblical Principles.
C. We Are Limited in our Knowledge.
II. WE MUST TRUST GOD FOR WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW, AND WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT.
A. When God’s Principles Don’t Seem to Hold True.
B. When God’s Cause Seems to Be Thwarted.
C. When God’s People Seem to be Forsaken.
