This literary study of Genesis 15-17 and 22-25 considers the lessons that Moses wanted to emphasize to Israel in the wilderness from the story of Abraham's life, not only the covenant promises God made to him, but his failure with Hagar, and the covenant responsibilities of circumcision. Also considered are the lessons from the stories of Isaac's sacrifice and marriage, as well as the deaths of Sarah and Abraham.
