Suffering for God's Sake

The tension between God's sovereignty and the troubles that come by way of life for God's people continue to challenge believers who are living godly lives. Confidence in God, in His control, and His power can be questioned in our hearts when circumstances seem to continue on and seem inconsistent with who God is and what He has promised His people. The reminders in His word serve to calm the troubled soul as who God is does not change nor does HIs will for His people. To continue to live by faith, trusting Him for all the unknowns and uncertainties while obeying what we do know will serve to keep the soul calm and renewed day by day. When God's will includes defeat, tragedy, or disappointments the reassurance is the source of that will is God, not random circumstance, chance, or fate. God's will includes the whole story with every page of our lives and He will bring all things, details, and events together in the end that is glorious and perfect.
