Loveless Church

Our toil, no matter how great, will never make us deserving of eternal life. However, our toil will be the instrument by which God makes us fit for Heaven and the enjoyment of it. This is why we are told: “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city” at the end of the Revelation (Revelation 22.14). At our best, we deserve Hell. Grace is the unmerited favor of God. Grace will lead us safely through.

So, we must overcome this besetting sin of working and toiling for Christ without love for Christ. Ask God to search your heart for besetting sin. Look at it as an enemy to overcome. Look at it as something you will have to continually overcome until your are safe at home.
