Israel was about to enter into a land full of paganism with temptations far beyond their wildest imagination. It was to be the testing of an entire nation.

For Israel, it could be the land of promise, or, depending upon their obedience and resolve, the land of misery, apostasy and destruction.

Moses continues to give very specific warnings, reminding Israel, and all of God’s elect, that they are to be a distinct people, dedicated exclusively to the Lord, in word, deed and appearance.
