The Gifts of Gab!

15

Some people are natural talkers. They have no trouble talking about any topic whereas others are more reserved. Now, when it comes to public speaking most would assume that the effective, dynamic speakers come from the outgoing talkers who can speak on any subject. But God can take a backward, shy, introvert and transform them by His grace into a preacher, a teacher, a communicator of God's Word. For to some, the Spirit of God gives the gifts of "Gab", speaking gifts that enable them to communicate God's Word with authority. Now the gifts of "gab" can be broken down into two categories: secondary gifts which cannot stand alone but must be linked with another gift to benefit others, and primary gifts which can stand alone. The secondary gifts include the "word of wisdom" which is the ability to express insights from God's Word that help in a particular situation, and "word of knowledge" which is the ability to discover, accumulate, analyze, and clarify information -- the gift of a scholar. These gifts may be linked to one of the primary gifts of "gab", such as the gift of Preaching, which is the divine enablement to proclaim God's truth with power and clarity in a timely and culturally-sensitive fashion or the gift of Teaching, which is the God-given ability to understand, clearly explain, and apply God's Word to the lives of the listeners. Jesus Christ was the Master teacher for he had the ability to clearly communicate God's Word to the common man. Our lives are enriched greatly by those who have the gifts of "Gab".
