Confession of Christ Can Be Dangerous

As Paul continues to explain that the Israelites are trying to make themselves righteous by their own works, he quotes Moses from Deut. 30:11-14 and how Moses attempted to quell Jewish efforts to equivocate regarding God's instruction in his word. Then, coming to a crescendo in Romans 10:9, Paul explicitly states what God requires to be saved . . . confession of Christ and belief that God raised him from the dead. While we in the 21st century often don't see confession of Christ as dangerous, for the past 2000 years Christians have been persecuted for confessing Christ. Confession of Christ is a very big deal.
