Christianity and the Federal Deficit

Sermon: This sermon called “Christianity and the Federal Deficit” was preached in January 1989. Back then, the federal deficit was $3 trillion and that was outrageous. Today it is roughly $18 trillion and growing! And that represents a dangerous mindset for the American people. As Americans attempt to do the impossible and vote themselves rich at each other’s expense, the government has run up a bill so massive, it’s hard to see how it could be paid back. --- Feature: Socialism may sound good; It may sound charitable. But socialism not only doesn’t work, it violates the Scriptures. Yet it is trumpeted in one way or another by many politicians and by those who believe their promises. It isn’t just the politicians who are clamoring for government to take over more and more of our lives. It’s also advanced through the media and through Hollywood.
