Trust in God at All Times

146

The lack of knowledge of God, attack on God’s design or marriage and family, and erosion of building life on truth within the community has led us to where we are today. I talked with a man this week who has lived through a reckless like and stated, “I have trust issues.” People are hurting, broken, hardhearted, and fearful. Some use the pain to control and dominate others with physical and verbal force. Some use the pain to give them an excuse to withdraw from living in community. They isolate, live alone, and wallow in past broken relationships in fear of every trying to love someone else again.
What can we do? Where can we point people to for healing, mercy, and grace to overcome the brokenness of their past and learn to rebuild again on a solid foundation. This morning I want us to look into Psalm 62 to gain some insight from the pen of King David. He battled through many struggles in relationships. His marriages were messy. His family was messy. His leadership of Israel was messy. In the midst of his life and this writing, we find a key to having stability in relationships. The title this morning will be “Trusting God at All Times.” We will consider the following 1) We Can Rest in God’s Character 2) We will Face Troubles in This Life 3) We Must Anticipate What God Will Do 4) We Must Build our Faith on God’s Word
