Humble God Asking Questions

The whole scene that engages our attention here is sparked by Jesus' parents leaving the boy Jesus behind when they left Jerusalem. In our day it seems incredible that they could have left without him. Yet the chaos that surrounded them, and the common travelling customs go a long way to pacifying our concerns. Probably the primary element that Jesus' parents didn't sufficiently consider was Jesus' desire to be at the temple, the house of his Father. At 12 years of age, it was time for him to begin to learn a trade and to start developing his career. he was ready. Also, Jesus was perfect, they simply trusted him on the basis of his life record. What a shock when they discover he's not there! After two days of travelling, they find him in that whole city, not flustered at all. What a beautiful scene meets their eyes. the humble God asking questions, amazing the teachers of the law.
