Jer 17:8b, “and shall not see when heat cometh,”

cf., Jer 17:6b, “shall not see when good cometh” (טוב) NASB says ‘prosperity’

I. Heat will Come, (קם) Gen 8:22

1. God’s People are Promised
   a. Hatred by the World, Jn 15:8; 1 Jn 3:13
   b. Tribulation in the World, Jn 16:33
   c. Persecution from the World, 2 Tim 3:12

II. His People will Not Know the Times or Seasons

1. It is in the Father’s Hand, Acts 1:7 (Mt 24:36; 1 Thess 5:1-2; 2 Pet 3:10)

2. It is Our Job to Watch, Rev 3:3 (not what, but Whom)

III. He will Protect

1. Water of the Spirit Cools, Psa 29:7; Rev 1:15

2. Water of the Spirit Cleanses, Eph 5:26; Titus 3:5

3. Water of the Spirit Completes, 2 Pet 3:9
