Stand on the Promises!

Even Christians can lose heart. Have you lost heart? Have you experienced a loss of conviction, a loss of confidence in God's Word, in its truth and rightness? Are you discouraged? Has your commitment to God drained away? Do you lack motivation? Do you sometimes ask why is God not blessing you, and feel that Heaven seems a long way away? If these things are so with you, then understand that difficult times have affected the Lord's people before!

With enemies pressing in upon them, even at the very gates of Jerusalem, God through His prophet Isaiah sent forth the message to King Ahaz to “Take Heed, and be quiet; fear not and neither be fainthearted..”

We as the Lord's people live today in a hostile culture with enemies all around us, who do we turn to in our troubles? Often many in the church today seem to turn to this or the other new fad, believing that it will address our generation. But such people forget the lessons of scripture; and in doing so they forget the vital promises of God!

God's promises are practical and will make a difference in our lives. Remember the importance of reading the Bible, and renewing your acquaintance with the promises. Learn the lesson of praying on in your moment of crisis, find the Lord in prayer.

No promise of God will fail! All His promises are bound up with a Son, that Son was to be called Emmanuel. Remember that the darkest times provide for God to demonstrate that God is with us – Don't Lose Heart!
