The Trial of the Centuries

Serving God in a fallen and twisted world can be frustrating. Sometimes it seems like it is hardly worth all the trouble. We strive to do what is pleasing, and yet, we seem to be spinning our wheels. This is not new. God's people have had to deal with these frustrations since the beginning, and God's people have responded in different ways at different times. In the time of the prophet Malachi, God's people began to accuse God of being uncaring – and they put Him on trial for this. In our text, God responds to this accusation.
