The Church's Purpose: Making God's Wisdom & Grace Known

The Ephesian Church heard the Gospel from Paul; they heard sound doctrine from Him, as well. They had believed and learned to live their lives and order their church based on the Apostolic word. Then they read what Paul wrote, not as a letter from a friend or even a parent, but as it was the Word of Christ Himself, communicating by His Spirit’s inspiration to His people, directing His church, giving understanding of the purpose for which He suffered for their sakes. Christ by the Apostle taught His church the very intent of the Living God; why He sent His Son and why He gave His Son a People. Christ’s Message explained that they had been purchased by Him so that they would be an integral part of the Eternal Purpose of the triune God to glorify Himself before all that He had created.
