In James 4:13-17 we find James contrasting two ways of planning for the future. 1) There is a wrong way to plan for the future: by assuming too much, by ignoring crucial facts, and by boasting in your arrogance. 2) There is a right way to plan for the future: by submitting to the Lord's will, by depending on the Lord's sovereignty, and by doing what we know is right.
