Paul is reminding Timothy that he is in a spiritual battle. The enemy tries to deceive you and make you ignorant of his schemes. He works in your thought life. He desires to get you to flirt with sinful thoughts. Our battle is not in the flesh. Christ brings our thought life captive in obedience of Him.
