Fear Not Little Flock

834 ( 729 | 105 )

Even we, as Christians, are sometimes prone to fear and anxiety. Although fear is part of the basic human condition, we learn in this address, that God, our protector, tells us to be strong and of a good courage.

We often remark that we live in a day of small things, and the little impact we are able to make on a largely unbelieving world sometimes is the reason why people become anxious about what the future holds for the church. We should however note that Jesus himself tells us "Fear not little flock, it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom".

If it has pleased God to promise that He give to us the kingdom of glory, heaven itself, then surely that should put all our earthly anxieties in a completely new light.

Live therefore with eternity in mind, and remember that the writer to the church at Philippi told them, and by the same token tells us, that, "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus.

Thankfully, gaining heaven is not based on our performance, but on the free gift of salvation which God has promised, solely through His grace and mercy.
