Colossians 3 - Part 36 - Children Be Obedient to Your Parents In All Things

105

In the preceding verses we have looked at our responsibility to live godly lives by manifesting compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, bearing with each other and forgiving each other and showing love to each other. These things are supremely necessary in our own homes and thus these former verses set the stage for life in the Christian home as it should be lived. This is the beginning of a series of messages on what the godly husband and wife relationship looks like. Most importantly, God has designed marriage as a picture of Jesus Christ and His body which is the church. Here we continue down the chain of command to see what God’s will for the children is. Since God the Father is at the top of the chain of command He is pleased when children obey their parents and so learn to submit at a young age to His authority.
