An Increasing Knowledge of God

After the initial greeting, Ephesians chapter 1 is comprised of two of the longest sentences in Scripture. Paul’s opening doxology is a 202 word, theological song of praise followed by his 169 word response to those glorious truths. Paul rejoices over the evidence that these Christians are among the elect of God and prays that, by the Holy Spirit, their knowledge of God would increase. The Christian life of sanctification is about growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior.
